National Tribal Dance Festival begins in Raipur, Chhattisgarh
- Chhattisgarh celebrates its 23rd State Foundation Day on 1st November 2022 and as a part of the celebrations, Raipur will host the 3rd National Tribal Dance Festival.
- The National Tribal Dance Festival will be celebrated from 1st November 2022 to 3rd November 2022.
- On behalf of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, other state representatives have invited the Chief Minister, and officials to be present in the National Tribal Dance Festival.
- The highlights of the National Tribal Dance Festival will be the other countries including Mongolia, Tongo, Russia, Indonesia, Maldives, and Mozambique participating in the event.
- About 1500 tribal artists will take part in the event of which 1400 will be from India and 100 will be from other countries.
Union Agriculture Minister Chairs National Natural Farming Mission Meeting
- Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar chaired the first National Natural Farming Mission committee meeting at Krishi Bhawan.
- The National Natural Farming Mission has been launched by Union Agriculture Minister.
- Narendra Singh Tomar launched the NMNF portal.The portal contains all the information about the mission, implementation outline, resources, implementation progress, farmer registration, blog, etc.
- Union Agriculture Minister asked the officers to coordinate with the State government and central departments and enable market linkage so that farmers can easily sell their products.
- The meeting was attended by Union Rural Development Minister Shri Giriraj Singh, Jal Shakti Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Union Agriculture Secretary Shri Manoj Ahuja, and Senior officers of other ministries.
Mathura-Vrindavan aims tobecome a carbon neutraltourist destination by 2041
- MathuraVrindavan, one of India’s largest pilgrimage centres, aims to become a“net zero carbon emission” tourist destination by2041, Uttar Pradesh government.
- This means that tourist vehicles will be banned from the entire Braj region, which includes famous pilgrim centres such as Vrindavan and Krishna Janmabhoomi. Instead, only electric vehicles used as public transport will be allowed into the area.
- All 252 water bodies and24 forests in the area will also be revived, official’s privy to the U.P. government’s draft redevelopment plan said.
- According to the plan, the Braj region’s annual pilgrim tourist footfall is expected to multiply fromthe current level of 2.3crore to six crores by 2041.
Nagaland to undertake first bird count
- Nagaland is undertaking the first avian documentation exercise to go beyond Amur falcons, the migratory raptor that put the State on the world birding map.
- The four-day TokhüEmong Bird Count (TEBC) from Friday has been timed with the post-harvest TokhüEmong festival of the Lothas, the Naga community that dominates Wokha district, arguably the most preferred stopover of the Amur falcons while travelling from East Asia to southern Africa.
- The event is a collaboration among the Wokha Forest Division, the Divisional Management Unit of the Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP) and Bird Count India.
- The exercise entails watching and counting birds on any or all days from November 4-7 from anywhere in Nagaland for at least 15 minutes and uploading the avian names on eBird (www.ebird.org/india), the bird recording platform.
