The SBI clerk is a National level banking examination that is conducted by the State Bank of India every year. This examination is conducted to recruit candidates for the Junior associate/ Clerical cadre post in the various SBI departments across the country. This is a Graduate level examination that provides clerical jobs at the entry level to deserving aspirants.
What does the SBI clerk or the Junior associate do?
The SBI clerk or the Junior Associate interacts with the clients and performs other operations related to client service. The candidates who are recruited as SBI clerks are hired in the position of depositors or cashiers and other posts that form the face of a particular SBI bank branch.
SBI Clerk 2022 notification
The SBI clerk notification for Junior Associates will be released by the State Bank of India in the first week of May 2022. You can log in to hhtps://sbo.co.in/ to know about the examination date.
SBI Clerk process of Application
You will first have to fill in the application form that will be released online. In case, you make any mistake filling up the form, you can edit it before the deadline for the application form submission.
The application fee is Rs.750 for candidates belonging to the general category. There is no fee for candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC/PWD category. The fee or the intimation charges that have been once paid will not be refunded. This fee can also not be held or reserved for any other examination. The fees can be paid through bank debit/credit card, net banking, and bank challan.
Steps to fill up the application form:
- The candidate has to first visit the official website of SBI.
- They will then have to click on the tab that says, “Current Openings”.
- Then the candidate will have to click on the “SBI Clerk recruitment 2022 tab
- The candidate has to click on the option, “Apply online link”.
- Read all the instructions properly and then click on the “Proceed” option.
- All the details like name, father’s name, etc. need to be filled up.
- After successful registration, a confirmation email will be sent to the registered email id.
- Upload the necessary documents in the required size and format.
- Click on the preview button to check if all the details have been filled in correctly in the application form.
- Make the payment of the application fee online or offline.
- Take a printout of the application form and the fee receipt.
SBI Clerk Junior Associate Eligibility Criteria
The SBI clerk Junior associate position has two main eligibility criteria:

SBI clerk Educational qualification
The candidate needs to have a valid degree from a recognized university in any discipline.
2. SBI clerk age limit
The age of the candidate needs to be between 20 years and 28 years. The upper age limit for the candidates belonging to the SC/ST category is 33 years and those belonging to the OBC category are 31 years. For the candidates who are disabled and belong to the General category, for them the upper age limit is 38 years and the disabled candidates belonging to the SC/ST category are 43 years, and the disabled candidates belonging to the OBC category are 41 years.
Exam Pattern
There are no minimum qualifying marks for each subject. There will be no sectional cut-off for the Junior Associate examination. But the criteria lie in the hands of the organization. The examination pattern is as follows:

Examination Syllabus
The examination pattern for both the prelims and the mains examination are similar, however, the level of difficulty for the mains examination will be higher. The preliminary examination will comprise Quantitative aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and English Language.

SBI Clerk admit card
The admit card is released online separately for the preliminary and the main examination. The candidates can access the admit card from the official website of SBI. The admit card contains details that include the date, time, and examination centre details. The hard copy of the admit card will not be sent to the candidates by post.
The steps to download the SBI clerk admit card from the official website of SBI:
- To login to the website, the candidate needs to have a registration or roll number
- The password is the date of birth of the candidate.
The admit card will be released in two phases:
- For preliminary examination
- For the Mains examination.
The candidates must go through the guidelines that are provided on the SBI official website before downloading the admit card.
Results and Cut Offs
Once both phases’ examinations are concluded, only then the results will be declared. The results will be declared individually for both the prelims and the main examinations. The aspirants have to meet the cut-offs for both sections to make their place on the merit list.
Appearing for the Prelims examination
The first stage of the selection procedure is the Prelims examination. This is n objective type examination where there are three sections - English language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. There are a total of 100 questions. The test duration is 1 hour. There will be separate timings for each test. The maximum mark for the test is 100. 1/4th of the marks that are assigned for each question will be deducted for every wrong answer. There are no minimum qualifying marks for each section.
Appearing in the Mains examination
This is the most important stage in the selection procedure. The marks that the candidate gets in the Mains examination will be the marks that will be considered for the final selection. There are 4 sections in the Mains examination and there are a total of 190 questions. The questions for the objective tests except for General English will be bilingual i.e. Hindi and English. 1/4th marks will be deducted for the wrong answers.
Result Declaration
The result is declared online separately for the prelims and the main examination. The candidates can access the SBI clerk results by logging in with the roll number or the registration number and the date of birth.
Examination Date
The examination for the SBI Clerk Prelims is expected to be held in July 2022 and the Main examination is expected to be held in August 2022. The examination dates will be notified along with the official notification and the same will be updated in the table below:
