China’s trade dips as COVID curbs, global slowdown hit
- China’s exports and imports unexpectedly contracted in October, the first simultaneous slump since May 2020, as COVID curb sat home and global recession risks dented demand.
- Outbound shipments in October shrank 0.3% from a year earlier, a sharp turnaround from a 5.7% gain in September, and official data showed on Monday. Imports dipped 0.7%, from a 0.3% gain in September.
India’s fuel demand rose 3.4% yoy in October: data
- India’s fuel consumption, aproxy for oil demand, rose3.4% yearonyear in October to 18.37 million tonnes, data from the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) of the Oil Ministry showed.
- Sales of gasoline, or petrol, were 8.8% at 2.99 million tonnes. Cooking gas orliquefied petroleum gas(LPG) sales decreased 3.3%to 2.40 million tonnes, while naphtha sales fell 24% to 0.96 million tonnes.
