India’s first mission to study the sun to begin by June July
- The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is planning to launch the AdityaL1 mission by June orJuly this year. AdityaL1 isthe first Indian space mission to observe the Sunand the solar corona.
- ISRO chairman S. Somanath, said that the AdityaL1 mission will be launched by June or Julyas the launch window for the mission would close by August.
- The AdityaL1 mission will be launched by ISRO tothe L1 orbit (which is the first Lagrangian point of the Sun Earth system). L1 orbit allows AdityaL1 to look at the Sun continuously.
- AdityaL1 has seven pay loads in total, of which the primary pay load is the Visible Emission Line Coronagraph (VELC), designed and fabricated by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bengaluru.
Mandaviya unveils world's first intranasal Covid vaccine 'iNCOVACC'
- Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Thursday unveiled the world's first intranasal Covid vaccine iNCOVACC and said it marks a "glorious tribute to the call for Atmanirbhar Bharat".
- The Union health ministry said the roll-out of iNCOVACC is expected to begin in private hospitals which have placed advance orders for the same. iNCOVACC is priced at Rs 325 per dose for large volume procurement by state governments and the Government of India. The company, in a statement, said the vaccine is now available on CoWIN, and priced at Rs 800 for private markets and Rs 325 for supplies to the central and state governments.
- Developed by Bharat Biotech, iNCOVACC is the world's first intranasal COVID-19 vaccine to receive approval for the primary two-dose schedule, and as a heterologous booster dose for adults.
- It is developed by the Bharat Biotech International Limited (BBIL) in collaboration with the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), a PSU under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology.
U.P. govt. plans to bear fee ofone of two sisters in schools
- Uttar Pradesh government is planning for aprovision in the upcoming financial budget totake up the responsibility of paying the fees of one girl child if two sisters of a family are taking education in a private school. It is learnt that the Education Department has sent a proposal forthis in the next budget.
- Earlier, CM Yogi Adityanath said if two sisters of a family are studying in a school, then the management should be requested to waive the fees of one child.
- The U.P. government believes such an initiative will give boost to the education of girls in rural areas and encourage parents to send children to school.
Bhupesh Baghel announced monthly allowance for unemployed youth
- Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said unemployed youth would be given a monthly allowance in the State from the next financial year.
- With Assembly election scheduled later this year, the move is seen as an attempt to blunt the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party’s constant attacks on the Congress government for not fulfilling its 2018prepoll promise of providing an unemployment allowance or stipend.
- Mr. Baghel made the announcement during his speech at the Republic Day celebration event in Jagdalpur.
