R.K Singh inaugurates 10 Mobile Health Clinics 'Doctor Apke Dwar’ under REC’s CSR project in Bihar
- Shri R.K. Singh, Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy inaugurated REC’s CSR initiative for procurement, operation and maintenance of ten Mobile Health Clinics (MHC) at Sadar Hospital, Aarah, Bhojpur District Bihar. The total cost of the project is Rs. 12.68 crore which will facilitate operational expenditure for three years for smooth functioning of the project.
- The 10 MHCs, out of which three are exclusively for women, will provide door-step primary health care service to the underprivileged population across all 14 blocks of Bhojpur district in Bihar.
- Each MHC shall be equipped with additional basic equipment and shall have a four-person team including a doctor, a nurse, a pharmacist and a driver cum support staff.
- Free generic medicines shall also be dispensed to the patients. Each MHC will organize over 20 camps per month and see 50-70 patients every day.
Sriharikota gets India’s first private space launch pad
- Agnikul, the Chennai headquartered space tech start up, has established India’s first ever launch pad for a private launch vehicle at Sriharikota. It was inaugurated recently by S. Somanath, Chairman of India Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Secretaryof the Department of Space.
- “The first exclusive launch pad for a private launch vehicle has come up at the Satish Dhawan SpaceCentre. Now, India can travel to space from one more platforms, thanks to Agnikul,” Mr. Somanath said.
- The facility, which was designed by Agnikul and executed with the support of ISRO and Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre, has two sections: the launch pad and the mission control centre. All critical systems are enough to ensure100% operationality during countdown.
Mamata may announce two new districts today
- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is expected to officially announce Sundarbans and Basirhat as the two new districts of the State during an administrative meeting scheduled on November 29, a senior official said on Monday.
- The two districts are setto be carved out of South and North 24 Parganas districts, he said.
- The district of Sundarbans is likely to havearound 13 blocks of South24 Parganas while Basirhat may have six of North 24 Parganas, he said.
- Sundarbans, a UNESCO World Heritage site, currently is spread over North and South 24 Parganas districts, while Basirhat is a subdivision of North 24 Parganas. West Bengal currently has 23 districts.
Govt. gives extension to Foreign Secretary Kwatra till April 2024
- The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet hasextended the tenure of Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra till April 30,2024. Mr. Kwatra, who took charge on May 1, 2022, was earlier scheduled to retire on December 31.
- The 1988batch IFS officer had succeeded Harsh Vardhan Shringla as the Foreign Secretary. Mr.Shringla is now serving asthe Chief Coordinator ofthe G20 summit to be heldhere in 2023.
- He served as the head ofthe Policy Planning and Research Division of the External Affairs Ministry between July 2013 and October 2015. He served as the head of the Americas Division in the External Affairs Ministry. Between October 2015 and August 2017, Mr. Kwatra worked at the Prime Minister’s Office as a Joint Secretary. Between August 2017 and February 2020, he served as the Ambassador to France.
